Category 5 Sports, football training, expert coaching, instructors

History, Background, & Experience

Category 5 Sports began as a value driven training camp for football. In most football camps around the country, coaches get minimal time with athletes. The coach to player ratio is anywhere from 10 to 20 to 1. Over a 2 or 3 or even 4 day camp, players don’t take enough reps to develop good fundamentals or polish higher level technique. Furthermore, parents spend hard earned dollars thinking a few days with an ex-pro will make all the difference for their kids.

Category 5 coaches spent summer after summer from youth football to the time they graduated from high school attending camps, always frustrated by their lack of reps and time with true experts at their positions. Category 5 Sports was founded with the fundamental idea that true learning takes time and true teachers develop a relationship with their students that last years, not days.

We also observed the daunting experience called “the recruiting process.” Parents and players have too little information to make the most important decision of their lives--where to attend college. Coaches and recruiting coordinators have reason to be deceptive and will leverage athletes who walk into a negotiation with incomplete information. Category 5 Sports is going to change that for our clients by providing insight, guidance and expert advice about the recruiting process.

Category 5 Sports has assembled a staff of professionals from around the country to help implement our dream of providing real value in training, leveling the playing field for parents and athletes, and disseminating valuable information about specific sports, positions, philosophies, coaching techniques, and other valuable tools.
